EURECA-PRO is an alliance uniting nine universities from Austria, Germany, Greece, Poland, Belgium, France, Spain and Romania including technical and comprehensive, research-led universities.
Universidad de León, located in Spain, offers a diverse range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes across various disciplines. Renowned for its strong academic reputation and cutting-edge research, it creates an inclusive and dynamic environment for both students and staff.
Technical University of Crete is a small, young, dynamic University with more than 70 laboratories with prime equipment, high technology infrastructure and eminently qualified personnel, as well as 120 faculty and staff members with international academic background.
Montanuniversität Leoben is an Austrian university specialising in mining, metallurgy, materials science, and environmental engineering. Renowned for innovation and sustainability, it combines cutting-edge research with strong industry ties to prepare students for global challenges.
Silesian University of Technology, based in Gliwice, Poland, is a leading institution in engineering, technology, and applied sciences. With a strong focus on research and innovation, it offers high-quality education and promotes international cooperation, preparing students for global careers.
TU Bergakademie Freiberg, located in Germany, is a prestigious university specialising in engineering, natural sciences, and resource management. Known for its strong emphasis on research and innovation, it offers a high-quality education and fosters international collaboration and sustainability.
At Mittweida University of Applied Sciences, high-tech, creativity and a cosmopolitan attitude meet on short distances. Nearly 6,000 students from over 50 countries benefit from applied education and research in a variety of academic disciplines.
Hasselt University, located in Flanders, Belgium, is a dynamic, research-driven university that addresses global challenges while empowering students to contribute meaningfully to their communities and create sustainable solutions for the future.
Université de Lorraine is a public higher education institution including 60 research laboratories and 43 training structures, including 11 engineering schools. It has more than 7,000 staff and welcomes 60,000
students on campuses spread in 12 cities in Lorraine.
EURECA-PRO is part of the European Universities initiative, a new model of collaboration among higher education institutions aimed at enhancing excellence within the European Higher Education Area in the long term.
EURECA-PRO pursues a dual mission of addressing critical societal and environmental challenges. Through its innovative approach, it tackles the pressing issue of Responsible Consumption and Production, contributing to United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 12, while also advancing the development of the European Higher Education Area in alignment with Sustainable Development Goal 4.
With its holistic approach, EURECA-PRO is dedicated to addressing both societal and global challenges, paving the way for a more sustainable and inclusive future.

EURECA-PRO vision and ambition charts the way towards a more inclusive, borderless European Higher Education Area, where freedom, free mobility, civic engagement, equal participation and transparent joint governance allow for the development of shared fundamental philosophies, common values and solution-oriented approaches regarding social cohesion, responsible citizenship and humanhood as well as responsible systems design.
